Coffee County is an oasis of quiet intention in Fukuoka's bustling Yakuin district. Founder Takaaki Mori spent months living on a hacienda in Nicaragua before opening his roastery in Kurume in 2013, and that direct relationship with producers defines everything here. The coffees are largely sourced from farms Mori has visited personally, and each cup comes with a story — of altitude, of soil, of the hands that picked the cherry. The Fukuoka shop, decorated in a signature purple theme, serves hand-drip with your choice of bean, espresso, and homemade alfajores that transport you to Buenos Aires. Buy a bag of beans and they'll brew you a free cup.
